Welcome To The World Of BuDDy Pegs
Dogs and cats who ride bikes?! Heck yeah!
Buddy Pegs is a local bicycle shop, run by animal friends, in the town of Spokesville. You’ve heard of Spokesville right? It’s the small town not far from the big city of Kingston. Until Buddy Pegs opened up, you didn’t see many bikes in Spokesville, but that’s all changed now. Come along for the ride as the Buddy Pegs crew fixes bikes, explores why riding is so great, and launches off on adventures from the shop each week.
Wrigley is the female co-owner of Buddy Pegs who brings a more steady and realistic view of the world. She’s not afraid to take on a big challenge… as long as there’s an equally big meal in sight when it’s all over. Whether in the shop, or out saving the day as her superhero alter ego Poppawheelie, she leads the Buddy Pegs crew day to day. Originally based on Buddy Pegs’ co-founder Jannine’s best friend of 14 years, Wrigley (aka. The Pig).
Watson is always up for adventure, eternally optimistic, and seemingly indestructible! When he transforms into his superhero alter ego Captain Endo, there’s no limit to his superhero abilities… in his own mind! Originally based on Buddy Pegs’ co-founder Fitzy’s actual dog Watson. His best friend of 14 years.
Where to begin?! Affectionately called Schmiddy the Dog, the Cat by his co-workers at Buddy Pegs because, let’s be honest, he really acts more like a dog than a cat. A dog from Long Island New York that is! (And yes, we’re still trying to figure out what that means too.) As the second bicycle mechanic at Buddy Pegs, he helps Woody tune up bikes in Spokesville. After the shop closes, he secretly builds all of Poppawheelie and Captain Endo’s bicycle tech gadgets that help them achieve all their superhero goals. And of course, from time to time, you may also find him donning his own superhero costume and becoming, wait for it...Master Mouse Kabibble!
If it weren’t for Jack… Buddy Pegs would never have been built! Don’t let his size fool you, this little beagle packs more energy and spunk than a husky and he’ll be the first to tell you! As the owner of the local hardware store, Fixies, Jack challenged Watson and Wrigley to open a local bike shop and gave them the space to do it in. Read all about that story in our picture book Buddy Pegs, Taking The Lead.
Known as Woody to his friends, this long haired Bergamasco Shepherd / gentle giant is lead bicycle mechanic at Buddy Pegs. After working at Fixies, the local hardware store next door, Woodruff returned to his true passion as a bicycle mechanic when he helped ‘the crew’ open Buddy Pegs. Years of bicycle grease are infused in his ropey hair, but don’t let his appearance fool you. His heart is bigger than his head!
Who else would you rather have as a night security guard than an owl! Unless that is, the owl can’t stay awake at night! Good thing Spokesville’s crime rate is pretty low.
Each month Buddy Pegs rolls into your inbox with new podcast episodes, free downloads, new ride ideas, and behind the scenes sneak peeks into our creative process.
